Heavy rain and floods inundated northwest China’s Liaoning province from July 28 to July 30. According to The Paper, water levels in 30 reservoirs in the province exceeded the alert threshold. Faced with rising floodwaters, the province has already permitted 13 medium-sized and 17 minor reservoirs to activate flood discharge gates, affecting approximately 79,500 people and damaging 1,600 hectares of agricultural land. Heavy rain has swamped several areas in Beijing, Luoyang, Yan’an, and other cities.

According to preliminary figures, floods occurred in 121 towns and 22 counties in eight cities, including Shenyang, Anshan, Dandong, Jinzhou, Fuxin, Tieling, Chaoyang, and Huludao, according to the Liaoning Province Headquarters for Flood and Storm Control and Drought Relief on July 30. Currently, 69,678 people have been evacuated to a secure location.

The video shows a corrugated iron home being blown down and carried away in Xingcheng City, Huludao, Liaoning Province, at about 2 p.m. on July 28.

In Fuxin, Liaoning Province, the 24-hour downpour on July 28 broke the local record for a single day of rainfall as it reached 208 mm (8.2 inches), the original record stood at 140.9 mm (5.54 inches) on August 8, 1953). The road turned into a river, and a car carried away by the floodwaters was discovered downstream a day later. According to Jimu News, the flood swept away or damaged several bridges over the river on the city’s roadways, interrupting traffic and trapping automobiles.

On July 27, Beijing saw moderate to severe rain, heavy rain in a short period, and wind gusts of 6 and 7 locally. The footage shows the road in Xinfadi becoming a river, with one vehicle flooded.

On July 27, there was severe rain in Luoyang, Henan province. Due to excessive flooding, the road surface changed into a river. One video captured the image of a woman walking along the top of a railing as if on a tightrope to prevent herself from falling into the water.

Heavy rain fell in Yan’an, Shaanxi, on July 26, causing flooding in specific locations. In the video, refrigerators and other objects can be seen floating, the water level is as high as one person’s chest, and firefighters in diving gear rescued four stranded people.
